Bees are out and about today. Lifted off my moisture quilt to see this!

Its only about 2 cups of sugar, I thought the bees would chew up the newspaper but it doesn't look like that is happening.

They are NOT touching the grease/sugar cakes at all.

Note, I had placed standard vinyl window screen on the bottom of my moisture quilt. Then put sawdust on top. The fine shavings go right through the screen. That is what see all over the top of the sugar cake and on top of the bars. Lesson learned.

Whats everyone think about the volume of bees? To small? A good amount? Comments welcome!

I consider the amount of bees to be small but I have one hive that looks exactly like yours. I'm gonna let them ride for a bit.

Once everything get going good here I may give them a frame of brood if they still need it.
