I have done 4 cutouts this year and have 6 hives / sold nucs from them.
I have a massive cutout coming in two weeks and also have access to a few queens. How would I go about splitting the cutout at the time of the cutout or should I give them a week and then split? I think I can get at least 3 5 frame medium nucs plus a 10 frame hive ...and then feed feed feed. I am planning on introducing mated queens. Thanks for the input. DJ.
PS. I live in charleston sc.

I would not do more than a 50/50 split from a cut out. You never really know how well the bees will adapt to the cut out. A large mass of bees can wind up a modest single after all is said and done. If you split to thin, you could loose them all
