Queens are available at least til early fall from some suppliers. Splits can be made here until the end of summer depending on your resources and how much you're willing to feed. Also depends if you're trying for a full size hive or just a nuc to overwinter.
I was wondering the same thing. I am in southeast Georgia and was thinking about splitting a half dozen of my hives since this swarming season has been outrageous. I have all my hives in 8 frame mediums and was wondering how late I could make a split and still have both hives ready for winter?
