Hi I am a first year beekeeper and am looking at doing a split. My hive was started in april from a strong nuc and already has a full deep and medium full of brood and capped honey. I have another medium on top now that they are working on drawing out. My question is since the honey flow seems to be over right now in my area would now be a good time to make up another nuc from this hive, and if so will the bees in my original deep draw out new foundation if I were to take 3 or 4 frames out?

Thanks

Yes, the flow if pretty much over here.
Yes, you could do a split....if you move them into a full brood box, FEED FEED FEED. This should get them to fill out the remaining frames by fall. I let my girls keep the goldenrod for their winter stores, too.
