I run a deep hive body and one medium super on my hives. I had a swarming problem this year and really do not want to relive that. Could I take and split my hives by taking the full medium super off of the deep hive body and place it under an empty deep hive body? Would this work?

Yes, hence the name walk away split. Thats how i split my first hive. Took the entire medium off with the queen, moved them, and walked away. I have done that 9 times this year....and all have made a queen and are doing good.
How far do you move the hive? Seem I heard somebody say 10 feet but another told me one mile. Which is it?
