I was reading my old bee books and came across this statment..."Diseases other than AF are best ignored."....urrr time to get new reference materials. So my question is what are the best books out that cover modern beekeeping? Specifically the prevention and control of VM and SHB. There are a lot of them out there and I would like to get your opinions and keep wasteful purchases to a minimum.

to be honest, I don't know of many books. I do like backyard beekeeper by Kim Flottum. Beekeeping for dummies is very general info that fits into one generic mold.

The beekeepers handbook by diana sammataro and alphonse avitabile.
