:lpf::lpf: Give me a break. If you get a 60 frame segmented reel extractor and double load it with 90 frames or get a 90 frame smooth reel. They both come with the same exact 1/2 HP motor. So um not seeing how you come up with this much heavier load. If anything it's one more point for segmented reel.. And yes, you can double up frames on some extractors, but it puts a much heavier load on the motor.
I was trying to point out that Dadant's extractor motors are rated for the amount of frames on a smooth reel not a segmented and they are more then capable of the torque demands of a double load because of this.Duh! 90 frames weigh 50% more than 60. Therefore, much heavier load! You know, that gravity thingy! You can double load all you want; I'd rather spend the additional $500 and get the bigger toy.
