The other day I got a request to catch a small swarm. It was really small, a softball sized cluster of bees, which I newspaper combined with a nuc.

I was surprised to see a small hive beetle in the box I'd transferred the swarm into. I'd put in one frame of comb that was completely clean. So now I'm wondering whether small hive beetles sometimes travel along with swarms.

They sure will.
My bees were getting water from where my air conditioner condensate drain drains onto the ground, was watching them and there was a SHB crawling around in the grass also. I hate them littler buggers.
