No, do not shake or brush them off. Nurse bees will not cause any fighting. The weaker hive will need them to help take care of the brood frames you are moving over. Just be very sure not to move a queen over on the frames.

A failsafe to help prevent inadvertent queen transfer is to shake the bees off, put the frame back in the old hive briefly, and remove a second time. The nurse bees will rapidly recolonize the frame, but the queen will go hide deeper into the nest. The reduced bee count will also make it easier to spot the queen.

The perfect failsafe to help prevent inadvertent queen transfer is to locate the queen and set that frame apart from the others.

Create some light between the frame that you want to steal and the adjacent frames. The queen will find her way back into the darkness.
