I don't do cutouts/trap outs due to not having the time so my experience base is lacking but I have a question I hope someone can answer. How do you identify scouting activity vs hive activity?
I went to the home of my child's teacher yesterday after she called about having bees at her house. They are not bringing in pollen and don't appear to be coming and going as I would expect a hive to be. I blocked the entrance and didn't have bees piling up to get in. So I'm wondering if this is perhaps heavy scouting activity or not.
My thoughts are to go place a bait hive and seal the entrance to the house to prevent a swarm from establishing a hive in the wall. Thoughts?
