I just took down a swarm trap so I could carry it with me and hive any more swarm calls that I get directly into the nuc instead of a cardboard box and then shaking them again into the hive later.
When I was taking the top bars out, there were about eight bees on the back wall just sitting there. They weren't flying in/out. There were some bees that were doing something similar on the front of the trap a couple of weeks ago. Not entering or exiting the trap, just sitting there. We did try to hive a swarm in it around the same time and just assumed that the bees that had stuck around were just leftovers that hadn't found their way into our other hives.
Should I be concerned that I just took down a trap that had scouts "holding" it or are these just some goofball bees hanging out?
