Had a swarm call today, the bees were right on the main trunk of the tree. Got out the bee vac a sucked them up, took them home and dumped them in the hive.
This is the third time I have used the bee vac, and I tell you what, I think if at all possible, I will use it from now on. You get 95% of the bees, it only takes 5-10 mins to get all the bees. The best part is you just leave and take them home.

Try making one that the bees are blown directly on to frames. I made one this winter that I really like. Now I just need a swarm to try it out on.

Yeah lets see the vac pics!!

I made one, I call it the robo design, works great, used it several times last year.

It is the one that uses a deep with frames as the vacuum canister.

I will get pics of it tomorrow.

Slee your oak trees are way ahead of ours, they are just now starting to put out leaves.
