Safe to use around my honey bees?

All that placing a trap close to a beehive will do - although it does seems instinctively the right place for such a trap - is to advertise the hive as a potential food source.
That is true, however once the yellow jackets have decided to start bothering a hive I've found that putting the trap right next to or on top of the hive works pretty well.
I have one 6 inches from the entrance to one hive, the bees are totally ignoring it and it's catching dozens of yellow jackets.
Just plain molasses diluted with water.

It only works when the yjs are trying to get in, but there are enough bees to fend them off. The yjs start looking for cracks to sneak through, and go right in the trap.

Hello, do you guys think this will attract the honey bees? Wanting to knock the yellow jackets and ideally the black hornets down, without trapping the honey bees. Thanks!

Bees seem to totally ignore that stuff, and they also ignore plain molasses which yellow jackets love.
Maybe try one of each type baits in traps right next to each other and see which one works best.
Molasses is working like a charm for me right now, I think unsulfured is best.
