Hi. I noticed bees carrying around a few dead larvae. On close exam it looks like I am starting to lose A LOT of brood. Brood is uncapped by bees, dead larvae shaped like a canoe, some w a brown head. Bees seem able to pull them out easy. I know its a virus and as such no pharmacological options. What is the best management here. I have had this hive in the house since last year and they were finally starting to build up.
Also, does this pose a risk to my apiary a couple hundred yards away. Thanks, Todd

I've actually never seen it in my hives, but in recent years I've see a lot of it in Varroa infested hives. My guess is it has more to do with Varroa infestation levels than exposure to the pathogen. It has been around since long before Varroa but seems more common now.
