I can't tell you how many times I've been reading a thread here on Beesource only to find a helpful post by Rader Sidetrack. I, for one, appreciate his helpful posts. I can't help but wonder how he keeps track of all those links he shares every day. :applause:

Thanks

I think Rader is secretly the senior manager of the interwebs. This lofty position enables him access to everything via some sort of brain wave search function that is orders of magnitude faster and more accurate than the good people at google can provide. He certainly is a helpful chap.

He obviously has more tools in his search bag than I do. It is interesting and informative too, how he often nudges memory of previous posts when the story line seems to have drifted. Swift at pointing out alternate search material when a topic appears to push a one sided agenda.

Just for the record, I don't mind any label that gets applied to me. :D (Just spell my name right - if you want to use a shortcut, its Rader, not Radar.)

I'm also happy to have post #19 remain, in all its glory, undeleted, as a permanent record. :lpf:

Earlier posts referred to my finding information (links) to add to threads. I really do not have any collection of bookmarked links, as bookmarks are always static, and the site owners often shift around information. Once the site gets changed, the bookmark is worthless.

I find all my links with Google, or the Beesource internal Advanced Search function. One thing that helps me winnow out useless sites is to use the Google/Chrome Personal Blocklist function. There are lots of sites on the net that have no original content, they exist merely to attract eyeballs and get ad clicks. Demand Media has built a whole company around this concept, and there are plenty of imitators out there. Add all those useless sites to your blocklist when you encounter them the first time, and then you won't have to even consider them in future searches.

Several earlier posts may be helpful in finding info via search.

See this thread post #2 on searching for images (photos) at Beesource. You can also use similar techniques to find photos at other sites.

See post #17 for tips on using Beesource Advanced Search.

If you do quote from a site, please include a link (credit) to the site you quoted from.

You may have seen that I often use the QUOTE function to include a snippet from a site, along with the relevant URL. You can duplicate that by using the BBCode QUOTE function. More information on all Beesource BBCode functions can be found by clicking the BB code link at the very bottom of this page (and every thread page).
