Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with them if you have a strong hive and a good flow, but bees do weird things with langs at times in that case as well.
I agree with all of the above. My two topbar hives made some cross comb at the back of the hives, the last 4combs in each. Each comb was only on two bars but I just harvested it as a set and crushed extracted it. So no real problems.

I use foundation strips as guides and find I don't need to mess with my tbh's all that much. I go in about every 10 days just like my other hives.
