If I cut out a queen cell and put it in my pocket, how long should she last? Should she be oriented in my pocket like in the hive or does it matter?

I know the queens in younger cells are more fragile than the ones ready to hatch.

The older cells are shipped across country with good success.

Assuming a queen cell near emergence (13 or 14 days from the egg being layed and eveidenced by the papery consistency and often papery tiip with the wax removed) and assuming it's not too hot or cold, and assuming you don't knock it around or smash it, it should work.

get a few plastic cell protectors. pull the cell put it in the cell protector....ready to put in your pocket.... then hang it in a new split.
