Im limited in my beekeeping knowledge resources at this time, only a few beginner books that really dont say much about observation hives so Im looking for info.
In reading about them on the Bush Bees sight he says he keeps them inside and then takes them outside to work them, does this mean he has them in a honey house or something with outlet to the outside for gathering etc? I think it would be so cool to have one of these in my living room to be able to watch everything going on but how would they be allowed to gather outside of the hive? Anyone using these and keeping them inside and what is your setup and schedule with them .Thanks again

I am building one that stands away from the wall and is rotateable. The bottom pivot is the entrance. I use 1" poly tube attached to 1" pvc. This tube goes outside (through a window or wall) to the entrance you want them to use.

Mine will be in my bedroom so I can look at them on a daily basis.

They are in my living room with a tube through a board in the window to get outside to forage. If I worked them in my living room, I would have to put up with a lot of flack from my family not to mention I'd have to put up with sitting on the ooccasion bee on my couch... so I work them in the front yard.
