All, I have the opportunity to buy the swinger pictured here for a reasonable price. The problem is it does not have pallet forks. The seller advises me that there is an attachment that can be put on the front (adapter?) to allow pallet forks to be utilized. My question is this, can anyone provide me with some recommendations on where I can get this adapter, and who does this work, if I am unable to do it on my own? Does anyone have experience with this model, and if so pros/cons, etc.

The swinger came from a bankruptcy sale. thanks

Call A&O forklift they have a lot of experience converting these to fork's. This machine is bigger than most used for trailering behind a truck

Is it really much larger than most machines pulled behind a truck? Swingers common beekeeper model is the 1600 isn't it? this is the 2000 model. What does that mean?

If you can get it for a good deal buy it and have A&O put a mast on it and keep the bucket!

1600 is 4500lb and the 2000 is 7300lb

That's way more machine than you would want in a bee yard or to pull around. I suppose if you can get a good buy on it....... Seems like it should have some sort of mounting bracket that will allow you to easily switch back to forks like,a skid steer has, but guess I'm not sure.

That's interesting the 2000 weighs quite a bit more. The skidsteer I bought weighs 7200 lbs and yes its aweful heavy pulling behind my truck. However I use it more than just for moving my bees. I know a large commercial operator in the local area that has a 9k lbs tracked skidsteer for extra wet areas.

I wouldn't recommend that machine for bee work. Ive used a swinger 2000 in orchards. Its bulky and hard to use. Very poor visibility. If you do want to get it Get a mast on it or you will destroy your pallets and hives. The center console where arms attach doesn't allow you to see your fork attachment.
