I am interested in some opinions - I made 35 NUCs last month with new caged queens from a reputable source. Queens with few exceptions were well accepted and began laying nicely. After 1 brood cycle, I noticed that a rather significant number of these queens must have been killed and the NUCs begain to make supercedure cells to replace these queens. Thoughts?

You say the queens "must have been killed" are you basing this on seeing cells started? Are there eggs still being laid? I am just getting at the difference between emergency and supercedure. In supercedure the bees do not kill the queen at least till her replacement is laying.
