First of all, let me say I am totally thrilled - I opened up my hive tonight for the second time (as a complete novice) and found beautiful little larvae, sealed brood, and a queen so lovely I had to resist the urge to give her a big ol' sloppy kiss.

Add to that the fact that my 15 y.o. daughter wants to help with every aspect, inspecting frames, etc.! And, my 12 y.o. daughter (who said bees are creepy) can't stay away, and was sticking her nose in the minute I said "oh look, the queen". Our family dinner tonight was the best we've had in ages, all talking about the bees. My wife said "I think you need more hives." :gh:

I love this hobby, addiction, whatever it is.

Anyway, my oldest daughter noticed a bunch of clear shiny liquid in some of the cells. I told her I think they are storing some of the sugar syrup we are feeding them. Am I right? Your thoughts?
