Queen problems

I bought a new package this spring only to have it turn into a laying worker hive. I combined the bad hive with a queen right hive that was needing a split. I left them together to mix for about a week and a half then split them taking an entire deeps worth of frames. 24 hours after the split I introduced a new queen to the split by placing the cage with candy plug I between two frames (plug down) and walking away. That will be two weeks ago this Wednesday. Today I pried the queen cage out and the queen was gone but there is no larva to speak of. Is it time to start worrying that I am once again queen less? I read that it can take (at the most) 2 weeks for a mated queen to start laying. How long should I sweat this? I am SO over laying worker hives!
