So...in the fall I had a marked queen. When I checked my hives early this spring, my queen had no marking. Is it possible that paint comes off somehow?

Not unusual at all for the bees to clean the paint off. Just had one the paint did not last a month.

I found a few times there is a mother and daughter queen in the fall. The daughter is typically the only one in the colony come spring.
