I took a frame of eggs and brood to a trapout to start a new hive. I checked the frame to make sure the queen wasn't on the frame. upon arriving at the trapout I saw the queen on the frame before putting the frame in the trapout box. I collected the queen to return her to her original hive. It to 8 hrs for the whole process to complete and the queen returned to her hive. Upon placing her back in the hive the bees did not accept her and proceeded to kill her. Did the bees forget her smell in just 8hrs. Any comments on a better way to make this happen with a better outcome?

Yep..... make sure the queen is not on the frame you take. lol

Seriously though, you can either introduce her as you would a package (in her cage) or cover her back in honey and put her in the hive.
