Give them a week, and at a minimum give them 4 or 5 days. You peeking into the hive might upset them, and they may blame the queen and kill her.

If you removed the cork covering the candy, they should be chewed out within 48 hours.

As advised, wait a week. In this case patience is definitely a virtue!
Not only remove the cork from the candy end, but some beeks punch a hole thru the candy with a toothpick to facilitate consumption of the candy and release of the queen.

5 days is kind of the minimum, but is really early and a gamble, they might blamer her for the disturbance when you look in the hive. You just spent $20 - $40+ on a queen, don't you think that you owe it to her and yourself to wait 2 more days and give her the best chance of survial? She's in a cage, she's going to be looked after by her attendents, she almost couldn't be in better hands while in that cage.
