Anybody ever read this article, interesting observations on the number of attendants a queen has. Has anyone else noticed this in their hives and come to the same conclusion

Thanks, interesting. Never put similar observations together that way. Certainly seen nuc bees vote with their wings, some build up just from drifting. Maybe the losers should get the axe immediately.

I too would like to refer to the pics. Great info though! I don't think I have ever read those types of observations before.

Well I went back through some of my photos of queens from last yr and most of them only had 6-8 attendants circiling them in the photos, all of those colonies died over winter leaving behind a little honey and now I'm wondering if its because they didn't cluster tight enough ? As far as the photos inthe original story, I'm not sure I couldn't see any either
