Thanks, interesting. Never put similar observations together that way. Certainly seen nuc bees vote with their wings, some build up just from drifting. Maybe the losers should get the axe immediately.

I too would like to refer to the pics. Great info though! I don't think I have ever read those types of observations before.

Well I went back through some of my photos of queens from last yr and most of them only had 6-8 attendants circiling them in the photos, all of those colonies died over winter leaving behind a little honey and now I'm wondering if its because they didn't cluster tight enough ? As far as the photos inthe original story, I'm not sure I couldn't see any either
