I have a hive that was produced a lot of honey 2 seasons ago then threw off several swarms. It was left with a small colony that survived the winter. Last spring it looked like it would grow and thrive - low mites, good egg-laying patterns. It never really got back to strength and no excess honey. Though they did store a good amount for themselves.

I let it go through this winter and it survived again. Now it looks like it is just getting by - 2 frames with OK-at-best brood pattern. Can I/should I requeen now?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
