I have found a slew of pollen substitute recipes and they all seem to have " brewers yeast" in common. Is that brewers yeast as in for making beer or the name brand of instant yeast made by " Brewers Yeast" I cant find which ever any where. Ingles sells " Brewers yeast" but all three in my town are out.

Brewers's Yeast is used in brewing. But I don't think it is any different from Bakers Yeast as far as the bee's are concerned. Bees need B vitamins which the yeast contains.

Here's a good price on Bakers Yeast: http://www.amazon.com/Red-Star-Acti...?ie=UTF8&qid=1392944822&sr=8-2&keywords=yeast
