So I've heard of hives on a good day bringing back pounds of nectar. How about pollen? Do they bring back pounds of the stuff on a good day?

The reason I'm asking is that my hive is on a hive scale, and I want to see if we have a spring flow around here. If my hive gains weight every day, could it be due to pollen?

It takes a cell of honey and a cell of pollen to make 1 bee. A going hive will use 60# of pollen a year. That's all I know.

I wouldn't think a dramatic weight gain would be from pollen. Remember that bees bring back water too along with pollen, nectar and propolis.
