I'm looking in how to mix up some pollen patties that the bees love. could use a little help on the ingrediants i will need and how to make it?... thanks
The ingredients are fairly simple. Get some good pollen sub or real pollen or both, combine with sugar syrup (I use 2:1) and maybe some type of cooking oil to keep the patties soft longer. I have found the more sugary you make the patties the better the bees will take them.
If your a new beek go with mega bee, or other commercail products. They have done the research and test and have a good product. Nothing wrong with making your own, but if you only have a couple colonies it's cheaper and easier to buy it ready to go.
I like the mega bee in the bag so I can mix it up or feed it dry.
