I spotted some pussy willows yesterday for the first time this year. A bit late but quite exciting just the same. BTW that was in the Groton area by work, my hives are a little north and I haven't seen any yet here.
Welcome to the forum wildbillc...Good to hear, my one hive is barely hanging on with a pollen patty & some homemade fondant.
Glad to see it. If my eyesight is not fooling me, one of the two bees looks like they were rolling in pollen. A few of my bees looked like they were taking a pollen bath.Checked today as we saw temps in the low 50s and I watched a few bees bringing in pollen. A few days ago under similar conditions we had nothing. Good sight to see, truly can't wait for spring.
Sorry the pics aren't amazing, quickly snapped a few with my phone.

Guess I'm not the only one keeping that Vineyard going. I hadn't seen any hives in Clinton yet but I figured there were a few around. Interested to know how many of us there are and where those drones and queens are off to.I am on Vienna lane, off Old Orchard...just a mile or two north as the bee flies.
CT Bee registry has not been updated yet, but lists 3 beekeepers and 4 hives from the previous year.Guess I'm not the only one keeping that Vineyard going. I have 14 colonies after losing a few.BeeCurious how many hives are you up to now?
