Was watching hives this afternoon, and I see lots of pollen coming in, looks like a white pollen and a slightly off white pollen.

Brac, that's great to hear. As a fellow Mainer, I've been waiting to see some pollen coming in. Because the temps were in the low 60's, I know they were out today, but I didn't get home until quite late in the day so I didn't get a chance to see if they were finding anything.

What kind of pollen do you think they were finding up in your area?

I was told it was alder and some other tree (don't recall), was also told these 2 trees supply no nectar so I should be feeding.

I was wondering what the girls might be bringing in to your hives. From your description of white and off-white pollen, my first guess was road salt, which is still in full bloom at least around these parts. ;)

Maybe spring really is around the corner.
