Did the first full inspection of the season of my hives today.

4 hives are rock'n and roll'n, and are about to explode with new bees. The other 4 are growing slowly, and it may be Time for new queens.

I noticed that the foragers are bringing in a medium (not too dark, not too light) brown pollen. Anyone know what this pollen might be from? (This is for the Denver, Colorado, area.)

Thanks.

I've noticed pollen here in Colorado Springs for 4 to 5 days now and saw bees gathering it from my maples. Someone told me elms also provide pollen this time of year but I haven't seen them yet.
