So I found this rather interesting. This hive is a long story, they've been trying to replace the queen for a while. They finally did just after I moved them to another yard. But they also propolized the entrance hole. Last time I checked was about 5 weeks ago when I found new cells. Notice the dirt...I suppose from moles maybe, theres raised tunneling coming from other property on the far right of picture below.

They made it thru without getting robbed by bees...i wonder if they propolized for heat retention or protection.

The propolis pictures above is the nuc on the far right.

These are production hives on the other side of property. They donor hives for early spring mating nucs. The 2nd from far left has a mite problem. Dwindling but still refilled and capped 1.5 supers after June harvest
