I stopped at a fellow Bee keepers house yesterday afternoon to buy a 1 lb block of wax and we were taking a look at a few of his hives near the house when we seen bees coming in with pollen? So I checked my hive when i got home and sure enough so were my bees! So my question is were are the bees getting pollen from here in western Pa. when there is no sign of anything near bloom stage?

Probably trees.
elm, maple, alder is my guess but someone closer to you may know for sure.
The pollen in the picture looks like maple.

I have been getting the same color pollen here now the past couple of weeks when the weather has been fit. There are a lot of maples just beginning to bloom around here as well as some other trees. Also gotten some light green pollen that I was told was willow.
