So I personally have not read nor have been able to find much on the idea. I know people do it, but I never hear what it necessary to come to the point and safely say that a nuc is ready for winter.
What does a 5-frame medium nuc need to weigh or have, etc. to overwinter in the north? I have 2 nucs and 2 10 framers, and was thinking that putting them in nucs to overwinter in would be a good idea? Get them all stacked together to help with heat conduction and maybe make it a little easier to stack hay around them if need be?
What says you guys? I was just thinking about taking dry sugar for feed to help overwinter them if they did not make weight.
