Just out of curiosity was she from a package? Supercedure? Grafted etc.....
One messed up queen
Had a hive begin replacing their queen about a month ago. Checked this past weekend to confirm that they were queen right. Saw a couple of frames of nothing but drone brood. Then found the queen.
No front left leg. Middle left leg partially paralyzed. Back left leg completely paralyzed. Left wing damaged. Given all that, she was making her way around the hive pretty good.
Assumed that she was not able to fly and mate. Poor girl had the heart of a queen, just didn’t have a winning hand at the table.
