The lower deep still has the 2 outside frames that are not drawn out. Is it ok to swap these undrawn frames with 2 that are drawn from the top deep? This way they would have 'completed' the bottom box and I would only have to worry about the top box drawing out . The top box has only been on a couple weeks and is not completely drawn out yet.

Info: In central Va running 2 hives, 10 frame deeps from packages. Have 2 deeps on now. Feeding 1:1 using Ultimate Hive Feeder (really like it by the way). Plan to feed until 1st of: stop taking it or fully drawn.

Thanks,
Danny

Danny - Don't worry too much. Go ahead and manipulate your frames. What I would suggest though is swapping them into the middle of the brood nest on the bottom brood chamber instead of moving them into the upper. Breaking up the brood nest will cause the girls to draw them out like a machine in order to put the brood nest back together again. Just make sure they have a drawn comb on each side of the new ones. Just move all frames toward the outside once those frames have been removed. You don't have to worry about manipulations until later in the season when the girls are trying to pack the upper brood nest with honey for the winter.
