Since I don't have my own bees to play with i was out watching the girls work over the white clover in my yard, I came across a bee which appeared to be a longer bodied worker bee, the abdomen was longer than the european honeybees and was gray and black striped...anyone have a clue what she was?

It looks like a freshly hatched bee but that doesn't make any sense. New bees don't travel outside the hive for 3 weeks or so. At least, that's what I've read. I've seen bees look something like that when I am doing cutouts or when I am inspecting hives.

Anyone else have an idea?
