I haven't been able to tell any difference in how well they do. So now I put them in single deeps unless I'm out and then I put them in stacked nuc boxes.
Nuc vs. 10 frame deep question
Would the queen and the entire colony be more prolific in a full 10 frame hive or in a double stack five frame nuc? I have four nucs and one full hive with 2 deeps and a super. The full hive was about as strong as the nucs when it started, and now is doing way better and growing a lot faster. I planed on keeping one hive for honey and keep splitting the nucs as they grow, to grow my bee yard. The nucs are doing fine, just not as strong as I thought they should be compared to my full hive. ??? Any thoughts?
