I just reversed my brood boxes for the first time yesterday and was wondering. If the brood is on the bottom now and it's supposed to in the upper 30s tonight is it a good idea to put the bottom board on for the night or just let them bee.

Craig may be asking about aboard that closes off the screened opening in a bottom board. If that is the case, I would close off the screen, at least in cold weather.

If you are asking about an entrance reducer, I wouldn't expect any material difference for just a few days of cold weather.

My hives do have a screened bottom, but there is an oil tray beneath the screen and a lower board that blocks access to the oil tray by the bees.
