Hey,
Im brand new to beekeeping and thought it would be a fun hobby. So far I have built my hives and yesterday ordered my frames, suit, smoker, ect. Now I just need bees. Apparently im way behind on getting a pacakge ordered. Im located in Arkansas near Ft Smith (west central). I dont mind driving a few hours for bees but seems everyone is out and Jester is on the other side of the state. Any ideas? thanks

join your local beekeeping club. cant hurt, and you might get lucky. advertise your availability to collect swarms. good luck,mike

yes thats what im planning. their next mtg is the day im supposed to have surgery so that wont work well and I didnt want to wait another month to get started.

see if u can get some old comb and lemon grass oil and set up some swarm traps do a search here its not that hard and is alot of fun .

If it's too late for packages, you might consider getting on some swarm lists... Findabeekeeper.com, Ebeehoney.com, Honey Run Apiaries, etc...
