I'm finding it hard to keep up with the bees I got from New Zealand. I have to give them drawn comb because if I don't they will pack everything full of nectar. I gave them a second deep and tried giving them some frames with foundation but it still didn't help they extended the honey dome up to the inner cover, so I bit the bullet and bought more drawn comb. I'm hoping this will help to control them because we haven't even hit our major nectar flow yet.
A little video I made last month.

Nice photography and great to see you doing so well with those packages.

Loved your choice of sound track also brought back a few memories haven't heard that Neil Young song in years, used to be one of my favourites.

I could watch that video many times just enjoying the bees & listening to the music, nice work. :)

Very nice video - it is a great thing when packages do as they are supposed to. Some of my Georgia packages are like that. Some have had queen issues.

Whaaat?

Neil Young is an acquired taste people can love or hate him.

Try this though one of his concerts - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KxiEjPCXA8

Or this, a more recent protest song about American policy - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=411cTWwxFu8

he has some weird amplifier for his guitar that should have got trashed but he was able to keep it going and get awesome sound from that guitar, a hole also got punched in the speaker but it gave the sound an extra something, so they left it.

Next time I post a bee video it's getting a Neil Young track. :)

That is super. I hope they continue.

If it were me I would paint that bottom board up real good not just because of the rain but in the cooler months you will have a lot of condensate running on it. At this point you will have to make another and switch it.

That was a nice video, and Neil Young is always welcome. If I may ask, what does a package of bees from NZ cost?

We paid $171.00 Canadian. That's for a 1kg package,

A beautiful and poignant celebration of your hives. Thank you for making and sharing this. I enjoyed it thoroughly (and will probably play in again several more times today!).

Another tune of Neil's that lends itself well to bee videos is "Emporer of Wyoming"

the video was nice, but the music has to go, Neal Young, really!
Neil always sounded good to me because I partied so hard in the 70's that I don't remember them. I always say that if you can remember the 70's you weren't really there.:D
