New wax foundation issue?

Is it possible this darker appearing substance (looks like mold to my untrained eye) is due to contamination of the wire during installation? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I see there is nectar in many surrounding cells as well. All the makings of bee bread! Nothing to do with the reinforcing wire.
