hived a swarm thurs in my TBH. all going well. watching them today saw 3 very large bees(drone?) come out. do swarms take drones with them also? I also noticed a baseball sized (maybe a bit smaller) balled up in a outside corner of the hive. I know they beard when they get hot but these where in a cluster? I have also opened up some more ventilation for them

Drones will visit many hive in the area, this time of year the guards will let them pass.

Saw a couple of drones in the swarm I picked up today in Rocky Ford, Colorado. It hadnt been out of the hive but a few hours....
A good 3 pounds.
I also have a question: since this was a very established hive (2003) how long does it take for afterswarms to issue, if any?

I frequently see a few drones while hiving swarms.
