I have noticed this twice now. When I make up a walk away split, and the queen first starts to lay. I have noticed the nurse bees really fill up the cells with a lot of Royal Jelly. So much that it is really hard to tell if there is even a larva in there. Is this just because they have so much stored up since they have not had to use it. Once they get going it goes back to being normal with just a little bit in each cell. Both spilts happened to be from the same Carnolian hive but, I don't think that had anything to do with it.
