New member from southwest Tennessee. Have ordered my hive and have a nuc that will be ready first of April. Looking forward to trying this beekeeping adventure. Somewhat worried about varroa mites though. Seems to be a big issue/problem
Thanks for responding. I will visit this site often and try to read as much on Varroa as I can. Right now I just need to get the bees home in April and get them "moved" in to their new digsVarroa is a big issue but with the help here you should be able to manage just fine. Welcome![]()
Thank you. Yes, this site seems to be an excellent source for informationFor whats it worth I use Formic Pro for varroa, its works for me, just watch the temps. There are other options you'll just have to read up on them, this is the best site I've found for info and feedback IMHO.
Thank you. I only have the one deep and two medium supers. So I may very well be ordering additional boxes in the next few weeks. I want to have them on hand in the event of a quick swarm which is what happened to my nephew in New York stateWelcome aboard, saw your other post about hiving a nuc. Just my 2 cents worth as I am just a hobbiest with now 7 hives but I'd make sure you have additional hive boxes and frames ready to go. You might wanna have another deep and at least 2 supers ready to go.
