Hey y'all! I'm new to the forum and very excited to be here! I installed a 3# pkg 2-1/2 weeks ago and also have a wild swarm that I caught around 4-5 weeks ago. I had watched a ton of YouTube videos and felt pretty confident - until my week 1 inspection with the package! I'm making plenty of rookie mistakes but learning from them. The swarm I caught was Queen-less but has stuck around none the less - only 1,000 or so bees, at the most. Today, I introduced a new Queen to them so, realizing that it's strictly experimental, I'm excited to see what she does for them. Like most people with new hobbies, beekeeping is all I'm thinking about - I have no idea where it takes me but I would love to end up making more than a hobby of it. I'm 34 years old, married & a mom of 2 boys - 2-1/2 & 4. I'm excited about the addition of beekeeper to my list of titles!
