Our neighbor just told us he will be fogging for mosquitos. He is about an acre away from my hives. I am terrified this is going to kill off my two hives. If he fogs at dusk (which he said he would do after seeing the look on my face) will it still kill off my bees? He thought perhaps they'd be flying less and come in less contact.

I hope this helps. What I have read on this and many forums . You should first some how close all entrances in the evening and then put a damp sheet over the hives for the evening. I would also ask him not to spray if you are down wind of him.

Please keep in mind I am a rookie at this also.

Good Luck

I had to do this when the farm sprayed next to my bees. Be sure you close all exits. they will be pissed and they will let you know it. Also you need a REALLY big sheet to cover them. I have been stung twice, One when i covered them and again when I took the sheet off. Good luck.
