I installed my first hive yesterday.

Before I did that, however, I noticed a few (unrelated) bees checking out the back entrance to my house. Today, I saw that they were entering and leaving a small hole going into a hollow area. I haven't opened the area up yet to get them out, but I intend to later today.

The question is... Are they honey bees I should keep, or pests I should dispose of? They don't appear to be wasps, as they have hair. I compared them to my bees, and they look very similar, but I'd like to hear form someone more experienced.

Are they honey bees? If not, what are they?

Thank you.

they are just honeybees - mutt breeds or a carni cross - they all work the same -

bee are like dog breeds - major breeds and lots of mutts

also one queen will mate with 15-20 drones - if she gets sperm from an italian, russian, carni, a mutt, and a buckfast - her offspring will all be different looking do to different genetics -

hope ths helps
